LET'S GO 2017.......

LET'S GO 2017……………
Now that Christmas and New Year is over, and as of today, many of the school aged are back to school, it's time to focus on the year ahead (while still hoping to enjoy the odd bbq, the long summer evenings and, with luck, some sunshine) before spring and winter roll around.
It's time to begin thinking about those budgets and cashflow forecasts for the 2018 financial year – you want them in place by year end 2017.
It's time to focus on improving services to your clients and customers….. are there more and varied services you can offer? Are there improvements to current service lines?
New clients and customers…. Where are they going to come from? Is the marketing of the business adequate?
We at JBA are the same as any other business. These things are as important to our business as anyone else's. We will take some time out over the coming weeks to address these issues, to address our direction for 2017, to put in place ideas, plans and actions that we need to take to make 2017 as good as it can possibly be.
We recommend that you do similar, and as always, we are here to help you do this, not just to do your compliance work. We're here to make a real difference!
2017…….. BRING IT ON!

      Christmas 2016 - 2016 In Reflection

It doesn't seem like a year ago that I sat down to write the 2015 In Reflection. The years seem to be rolling by faster and faster! I write this years In Reflection the day after Donald Trump won the Presidency of the United States of America. To us at JBA, the feeling is not so much "pro-Donald Trump", but more "anti-establishment". The immediate and medium term future sure look like being interesting times internationally, locally and financially/business wise.

As always, it has been a pleasure working with so many of you over the last 12 months. You, our client, are the life-blood of our firm and while many people think accountancy is just "number crunching", I can assure you that couldn't be further from the truth - it is in fact a "people profession". We at JBA get great satisfaction from working with you.

This year has been a busy year work wise for most of us. It also has had its challenges, but what year doesn't. Considering the American Presidency result and various other factors, we expect the forthcoming year to be challenging too. The Reserve Bank today reduced the OCR to an all-time low of 1.75 per cent. However, the banks have not passed this on to their customers (either floating or fixed rates) and we wouldn't be surprised to see both interest rates and inflation increase over the coming months as a result of the USA election.

But for us in Godzone, at least it's coming up summer time. Let's not forget that Christmas is the time of year where we should make sure we spend some quality time with our families and friends, people whose presence for so much of the year many of us take for granted as we get caught up in the frenzy of our work. It is, after all, along with ourselves, these most important people that we work so hard for. So be it the beach, the batch or the garden, enjoy the sunshine, time away from the demands of work and especially enjoy those special people in your life.

      Thank You for your Support

We would like to take this opportunity of thanking all established clients for your continued support of our business – it is very much appreciated and acknowledged. After all, without you we would have no business. For those newer clients that have joined us during the year, we thank you for choosing our firm as your professional partner in business and we hope that we have met or indeed exceeded your expectations. We also would like to thank those of you who referred new clients to our company, such referrals are always greatly appreciated and your faith in us is fully recognised and appreciated by all of us here. We look forward to working with you all again next year.

Finally, we at James Bell Accounting Ltd - wish you all a safe and happy festive season and a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Josh came to New Zealand in 2003. Originally from China, he graduated in New Zealand with a Bachelor of Business degree in 2007. He has previously worked in the Chartered Accounting profession prior to joining JBA. He worked in the Business Advisory division of an Auckland firm of Chartered Accountants for a number of years, looking after various small to medium sized New Zealand local businesses within a wide range of industries. His wealth of knowledge and application in order to obtain a thorough understanding of the clients' issues and needs stands him in good stead in solving problems and finding practical solutions to all sorts of business and tax related matters. This is something he relishes.
