Here is a brief background on our company….

Our business was established by Jim Bell in 1991 just after his return to New Zealand from 2 years working in senior positions in accountants offices in Europe - 1 year in a prestigious London firm of Chartered Accountants and 1 year in a reputable Jersey (Channel Islands) - tax haven - firm. The business was established in Auckland, adjacent to the Auckland CBD and its primary office is today situated in busy Newmarket. There is also a satellite office on Auckland's beautiful North Shore, in Albany, which caters for many of our North Shore, West Auckland and Northland clients. James Bell Accounting Limited  ("JBA") has clients both nationally and internationally.

Upon a change in law allowing professional accountancy practitioners to practice through a limited liability company in 2001 the business was incorporated and James Bell & Co., a trading division of South Pacific Financial Services Limited, was born. Up until then the business had been owned and run as an unincorporated practice. In June 2005, the company changed its name to the more modern and informative name of James Bell Accounting Limited.

The JBA client base now includes businesses and individuals throughout the world. While a number of our clients are based in the Pacific region and Australia, we maintain a particular emphasis on businesses located in the greater Auckland and North Island regions of New Zealand.

The practice has both national and international associations.

The business also has an associated company, South Pacific Trustees Ltd, which is detailed further in our Services page (see "Trusts"). It provides Estate Management and Trusteeship services to a wide range of clients.
